Sephora's Beauty Insider Spring Bonus Event

Never did I think I would enjoy and be so passionate about skincare and beauty as I am now. Just a few years ago my skincare regimen - or lack there of - consisted of “washing” my face in the shower. Fast-forward to today where I have a morning and night routine, wear sunscreen daily and am a big believer in clean products.

I’m happy to say that now at the age of 30, I am finally comfortable in my own skin and have no fear of days without makeup. I don’t know about you but that is huge! I finally found a clean skincare brand that works amazingly for my skin and have been using the products for a year now. It’s your skin and your face so to me, investing in good quality products is worth every penny.

So yes, I fully understand that skincare and beauty products can be a bit pricey but that’s why this time of year is like Christmas…it’s the Sephora Spring Beauty Insider Sale! The sale actually started last week for Rouge members and runs through May 6. Rouge-tiered members receive 20% off in-store or online with code HEYROUGE. The sale for VIB-tiered members [that’s me!] runs May 2 through May 6 and VIB members receive 15% off in-store or online with code HEYVIB. All remaining Beauty Insider members receive 10% off in-store or online with code HEYINSIDER from May 2 through May 6.

With savings like that how can you not stock up on the best in skincare and beauty?! I’ve put together my list of must-have products that I use every single day [I broke it up into a skincare section and a makeup section] along with my wish list of items I’ll be checking out during the sale. Happy shopping!

SKINCARE

  • Drunk Elephant Beste No. 9 Jelly Cleanser - I don’t know about you but I seem to be pretty picky when it comes to cleansers. They can be too drying, too oily, or just don’t leave your face feeling clean which fully defeats the purpose. The first time I used this cleanser was at our family beach house in OBX and I ran to my mom and said “MY SKIN FEELS LIKE IT CAN BREATHE!” It removes everything on your face without drying it out. The product lasts a while too; I’ve had mine since Christmas and it is still going strong.

  • Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multivitamin Eye Cream - I first shared this product in my go-to Sephora products blog post a few months back. I had just started using it after getting a facial and the esthetician recommending that I start using an eye cream because the skin around/under my eyes was so dry. It is a soothing, creamy formula that hydrates, brightens and firms the skin. I without a doubt have seen significant improvement since I started using this! The lines around my eyes are diminishing, my under eyes aren’t as dark, and the skin feels soft and smooth. If you’re in the market for an eye cream, I highly recommend this!

  • Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer - I have some pretty dry areas of skin that I feel like I’ve tried everything and anything under the sun and nothing fully got rid of the problems. That’s where DE Protini came in. This moisturizer is like a shot of hydration for my skin without it feeling oily or greasy. It’s so lightweight, my skin never feels heavy. I use it all year round and it has done wonders for my dry problem areas.

  • Drunk Elephant Virgin Marula Antioxidant Oil - This product is sort of the holy grail DE product. It helps to transport other products it is mixed with [aka your DE smoothie] deep into your skin for maximum results. It helps to remove the signs of aging and fights against free radical and environmental stressors.

  • Drunk Elephant C-Firma Vitamin C Day Serum - I had been wanting to add a vitamin c serum to my skincare routine for a while. I tested out a few others that were just awful [smelled bad, burned my skin, etc] and after reading countless reviews on this DE one, I gave it a try and was amazed! No awful smell, no burning, just pure amazingness. It is packed with antioxidants and helps to firm and brighten the skin. I use this every single morning.

  • Drunk Elephant TLC Framboos Glycolic Resurfacing Night Serum - I never thought my skin felt smooth, it always seemed dry and just blah. This night serum definitely helped to change that! This serum helps to remove dead skin cells leaving your skin feeling smooth and looking brighter. I’ve even noticed it has helped with any pesky pimples that come up on occasion [since switching to DE products, I rarely get pimples and could not be happier!]

  • Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial - This is like an expensive facial at a salon in a bottle - it is life changing!! In just 20 minutes time once a week, your skin will literally feel as smooth as a baby’s bottom. This is more than worth the price and I don’t know what I did before this product!

  • Drunk Elephant Umbra Tinte Physical Daily Defense Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 30 - In my blog post a few months back about my go-to Sephora products, I mentioned I had just started using this tinted sunscreen and y’all…I am 10000% hooked!! A little bit goes a long way and it doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy at all. It provides the most natural glow to your skin and is perfect for those “no-makeup-makeup” days; I’ll either wear just that with mascara or throw on a little blush for an extra pop. I also find that my makeup stays on better throughout the day since I started using this.

  • Coola Mineral Face SPF 30, Matte Tint - I was first introduced to Coola at The GOOD Fest a couple of years ago and was instantly hooked! I think it is so important to wear sunscreen daily and I love that this is an all-natural, plant based product. I also like that it is tinted and has matte coverage. I don’t typically wear too much makeup so I like to use this as “foundation” and it’s great for those days where you don’t want to wear makeup. It goes on so smooth and creates and really natural, matte tint to your face. [I mainly wear the Drunk Elephant tinted sunscreen now but still highly recommend this!]

  • Dr. Dennis Gross C + Collagen Prefect Skin Set & Refresh Mist - The power of packaging and marketing got me on this product about a year ago…but I like it! It’s a set and refresh mist that has vitamin C and collagen in it. It smells amazing!! I loved using it during busy days on the go as a refresh or after being outside on a warm day. I don’t know if the vitamin C and collagen actually did anything for my skin but the fresh scent and coolness of the mist definitely made me feel refreshed!

MAKEUP

  • BareMinerals Matte Loose Powder Mineral Foundation Broad Spectrum SPF 15 - This stuff has been my go-to since college and I absolutely love it! I 100% prefer the matte formula over the original and love how lightweight and barely there it is. I use medium beige all over my face and then use it in golden tan for bronzer.

  • Tarte Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush - I use this in the color exposed and it is the perfect nude-pink color for daily wear. This color is great for someone like me who goes for more of a natural look but wants just a subtle pop/hint of color. This shade also has none of that glitter or sparkly crap in it…totally not my style! The product also lasts SO long!! I feel like I’ve had this compact forever and it’s still going strong.

  • Bite Beauty Matte Creme Lip Crayon - I use this in the color glace; it is a pretty dusty mauve color. I will wear it either by itself or as a base/liner to the Amuse Bouche lipstick [below]. This is also an incredibly smooth formula and stays on for a very long time throughout the day.

  • Bite Beauty Amuse Bouche Lipstick - I have this in the color chai; it is a dark mauve color [great for fall and winter]. The formula is incredibly smooth and I feel it stays on for a very long time throughout the day which is bonus points in my book.

  • Sephora Collection #Lipstories - I have this in two cream-based shades: Oui! [a pinky-nude] and Matinee [darker red-ish]. The best part is that these are only $8!!

MY WISH LIST

  • I’m in the hunt for a good all-natural and clean deodorant and I’m currently debating between Farmacy Freshen Up All-Natural or Biossance Squalane + Bamboo Deodorant. Have you tried either of these?

  • I’m also on the hunt for new lip shades for spring/summer. I’m already a fan of Bite Beauty and the Sephora #lipstories but also want to check out Tarte’s Color Splash Rainforest of the Sea collection - so many great color options!

  • Anyone else struggle with dry lips?! Mine got so bad the other week that my bottom lip cracked pretty much dead center…it was not fun!! With that, I’m on the hunt for a stellar lip scrub/mask type of product. I’ve heard amazing things about this Laneige lip sleeping mask and I think it’s going to be a must try item.

  • Before I started using the Drunk Elephant eye cream, my under eyes were dark and dreary so I had always thought of getting an under-eye concealer. Now that my under eyes have improved so much, I don’t see it as a necessity. Although when my insomnia strikes usually once a week, those bad boys definitely come out and make an appearance! I’ve heard nothing but the most amazing reviews about Tarte’s “shape tape” under eye concealer and am thinking of giving it a try for the morning after those unfortunate sleepless nights.

There you have it - my everyday skincare and beauty products from Sephora to stock up on during their spring bonus event plus a few things I’ve got my eye on. What are you stocking up on at the sale?! Comment below!
